Chicago’s Kairos Consulting Wins Lufthansa Assignment in the Philippines
Chicago, IL (February 4, 2008) – Lufthansa Technik Philippines, a global provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul services for commercial aircraft, has engaged Chicago-based Kairos Consulting for advisory services, said Lynn Sutton, managing principal of Kairos Consulting. The assignment is aimed at increasing the speed and quality of services performed at Lufthansa Technik’s Manila facility in the Philippines.
Sutton said Kairos will implement a Lean Six Sigma initiative, a business improvement methodology used by companies worldwide to speed processes, increase efficiency and improve customer satisfaction.
“We are now collecting data and conducting interviews organization-wide and are already yielding substantial results,” said Sutton. “We believe that, by implementing Lean Six Sigma, Lufthansa Technik will be able to increase the number of planes serviced in Manila, process them faster, and improve the quality of their work.”
Lufthansa Technik chose Kairos Consulting, after an international search. Sutton, whose company provides organizational improvement strategies to a wide range of private and public organizations, has worked extensively on behalf of multinational corporations.
Lufthansa Technik Philippines employs more than 2,000 administrators and technicians who service both Lufthansa and other carriers in Manila. Sutton said Kairos expects to complete the Lean Six Sigma engagement in May.
Lufthansa Technik Philippines services more than half of the international and local carriers that fly to and from the Philippines. “To secure more of the third-party business in the Philippines, Lufthansa Technik needs to be as competitive as possible,” added Sutton. “Our job is to help the company create efficiencies that will improve its competitive position.”
